Which verses have been omitted from Ahzab Surah according to Abi ibn Ka’b’s opinion?


Answer

Ahzab surah is one the surahs of the Quran which has 73 verses. According to some narrations narrated by Sunnis this surah has had more verses than theses.
Some of them are as follows:
Ahmad ibn Hanbal quotes from Zir ibn Jubaish from Abi ibn Ka’b that he asked Zir ibn Jubaish that: “how many verses does have Ahzab surah?” Zir answered: “73 verses”, then Abi ibn Ka’b said: “it is impossible, truly I saw that Ahzab surah had as many verses as Baqara surah and the verse of stoning adulterers (Rajm) was also in this surah”, Zir asked: “what is Rajm verse?” Abi ibn Ka’b answered:
(الشيخ و الشيخه اذا زنيا فار جموهما البتة (1)(2
Hakim quotes from Abi ibn Ka’b in Mustadrak that he said:
“Ahzab surah had as many verses as Baqara surah and the verse of stoning adulterers (Rajm) was also in this surah”. (3)
Siyuti also quotes from Abi ibn Ka’b in al-Durr al-Manthur through several ways that he said:
“not only Ahzab surah had as many verses as Baqara surah, but also it had more verses than Baqara surah.” (4) (5)
