Which verses have been omitted from Tawba surah according to Huzaifah ibn Yaman’s opinion?
Answer
According to some narrations narrated by Sunnis, Tawba surah is incomplete.
Some of them are as follows:
Siyuti quotes from Huzaifah ibn Yaman through several ways that he said:
“People recite a fourth of what we have recited”.(1)
“You recite a third of the surah”.(2)
Siyuti quotes from Malik ibn Anas that he said: “Tawba surah had as many verses as Baqara surah and the first verses of the surah were omitted and also “in the name of God” “بسم الله” was one of the verses which were omitted”. (3) (4)
